BeaverMeadowFalls
Winter's finally over, the birds are singing and the water is flowing. It’s time to get out there and enjoy the warmer weather!

Come join the Eastern Mountain Sports professional guides to take a tour to some of the Adirondacks' most pristine waterfalls. Enjoy the refreshing spray of mountain water and take your time exploring the magnificent falls. Whatever you do, don’t forget your camera: these waterfalls are not shy and love to have their picture taken.

Our host for this adventure is the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort, on the banks of Mirror Lake in the heart of Lake Placid's Olympic Village. Located within walking distance to great shopping and restaurants, there is plenty to keep you entertained all day. The charming resort has a heated pool and hot tub, great for relaxing after a day of outdoor adventure. Along with being conveniently located, the Golden Arrow has gone totally “green.” Through extensive remodeling, they've created a carbon neutral environment without sacrificing the comfort of a full service resort.

For the waterfall excursion, you'll be given three choices. Each have different destinations and are rated at various difficulty levels, easiest to most difficult.

Bouquet River Falls and Knoblock Falls

These two waterfalls are all accessible in a day’s outing. There is a short drive between the two so carpooling or caravaning will be needed. The Bouquet River Falls is a longer flat approach that follows the river's edge, and the falls itself is a natural water slide that’s perfect for a quick dip. Knoblock Falls is a short bushwhack to a rarely visited waterfall that cascades off the side of Knoblock Mountain.

Cascade Falls (top and bottom), Deer Brook Falls and Roaring Brook Falls (top and bottom)

These three waterfalls are all accessible in a day’s outing. There is a short drive between the three so carpooling or caravaning will be needed. Cascade Falls will be first approached at its base, then a rugged climb will bring you to the top, revealing excellent views of the surrounding area. Deer Brook Falls is a roughly 2 miles round trip and follows Deer Brook. The terrain is rough but the brook offers several small waterfalls along its course. Roaring Brook Falls requires a short hike to the base and then a more strenuous hike to the top for additional views.

Beaver Meadow Falls and Rainbow Falls

This is a longer trip, around 9 miles round trip, and is located in the Adirondack Mountain Reserve. We will first make our way to Beaver Meadow Falls. After climbing along its shores, we will come to a ridge called Lost Lookout. From here you can take in the beautiful views overlooking Ausable Lake. We will then traverse down the other side to Rainbow Falls, which is one of the Adirondacks' most pristine waterfalls. We will exit near the Ausable Lake Dam but not before enjoying yet another great panorama of the lake.
