Trip Levels 1- Easy Good overall fitness. You do not need to have a regular physical fitness routine, but should be healthy and have the stamina to enjoy the activities outlined. You should be able to walk your local mall during an afternoon of shopping without becomming exhausted. These activities are designed for the beginner and do not require previous experience.

In your regular schedule, 1 or 2 days per week should include a few hours of non-strenuous physical activities. Able to carry a 10-20 pound pack for 2-4 hours of light hiking. These activities are designed for the the person who is somewhat active or new to an active lifestyle. Previous experience is not necessary, but will help.
3- Moderate Good cardio-vascular fitness with a regular fitness schedule. 3 or more days per week should include a few hours of moderate to strenuous physical activity. Able to carry a 20-30 pound pack for 5-8 hours per day for multiple days in a row. These activities are designed for the active individual looking for a little challenge. Previous experience is highly recommended to fully enjoy these activities.
4-Moderate- Strenuous Very good cardio- vascular fitness with a regular fitness schedule. These trips are usually longer in length and require very good stamina and strenght. You may be exposed to high altitudes and extreme temperatures. You should be able to carry a 25-35 pound pack for 5-8 hours a day for multiple days in a row. Terrian may be difficult to navigate at times requiring the use of hands. Good sense of balance and coordination will be necessary. You should have previous experience and be open to a changing itinerary due to the unpredictable environments in which these activities take place.
5- Strenuous Excellent cardi-vascular fitness with a regular fitness schedule. On these trips you will reach altitudes above 18,000ft for extended periods of time. You must be physically and mentally prepared for adverse weather conditions and possible changes to the itinerary. You should be able to carry a 25-35 pound pack for 5-8 hours a day for multiple days in a row. These trips may not required you to carry this type of pack, but you should be physically capable of doing so. Terrain will be difficult at times so balance and focus is very important. Technical skills and rigorous training may be required so check the trip details for requipements. We do offer courses in areas such as climbing, kayaking and skiing if you would like formal training with a professional.
