Why settle on one activity when you can do them all!
At EMSTrek we like to offer something a little different on all our adventures. This trip is a unique way to enjoy the outdoors and offers travelers the opportunity to experience the very best of what the White Mountains has to offer.
Hop aboard the Notch Train for an exhilarating ride back in time on the historic 133 year old railroad. Once thought to be an impossible feat due to sheer cliffs and rugged terrain, the railway lives on and continues to amaze travelers looking to get a birds-eye view of the magnificent valley. On the train we sit and gaze out large panoramic windows and listen to a historical narrative of the railroad and surrounding area. A perfect way to begin an adventure packed trip.
Once arriving at Crawford Depot in late afternoon, we step off the train and shake out our legs for hiking. After gearing up we make our way to the trail and begin our journey even further away from civilization. Slowly, sounds of the train surrender to the whispers of wind racing through the trees. While hiking to the hut we always keep an eye out for the occasional moose grazing or taking an afternoon stroll.
At Zealand Falls hut we settle in and take time to explore the surroundings of our new home for the night. The hut provides access to beautiful waterfalls and again is a great spot to watch for wildlife. At 6pm we get ready for a hearty backcountry dinner and wake at 7am to a delicious breakfast before heading back out on the trail.
By mid afternoon we break-out from the thick canopy of lush forest and meet up with our bikes. A van will safely transport bikes from The Cranmore Mountain Lodge to Crawford Depot for the exhilarating ride down Crawford Notch, back into town. We ride along the lower part of the valley and look up at the steep cliffs where the Notch Train winds through the mountainside. Tonight you are free to explore town and take pleasure in the great nightlife and entertainment. You have just finished a true White Mountain multi-sport adventure!
Private dates can be arranged for larger groups. Give us a call to speak with a guide for more information, or book your next trip right online with a $150 deposit!
